All Bergen County students are all eligible for one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day through June 30, 2021. Meals are available daily at each school location for students receiving in-person instruction. Meal options include a whole grain component, fresh fruit, vegetable, low-fat milk, and lean protein. Students may select three to five choices but must include a fruit or vegetable. Staff members will be happy to assist students with questions. Meals for the week are distributed each Monday for virtual students. These are available for pick up between 10 AM and 11:30 AM at either of the locations below: Teterboro Technical School 504 Route 46 West Teterboro, NJ 07608 Front door on the west side of building main entrance Paramus Rehab 296 East Ridgewood Ave. Paramus, NJ 07052 New participating families please drop us a brief email to let us know you are coming and your preferred location to assist us in preparing for everyone. It’s wonderful to welcome our students and staff members back for in-person classes. It’s a very exciting time for the students as they re-establish connections with fellow classmates and with their teachers after spending most of this school year communicating via computer. Although many of our usual events have looked different this year, our school spirit and sense of community have shown through in these extraordinary times. About Us The Bergen County Technical Schools District was founded in 1951 to oversee the County's growing need for vocational education. The following year, Bergen County Vocational-Technical High School, the first full-time facility of its kind in the state, opened at 200 Hackensack Avenue. At that time, students studied the union trades of plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and electrical work.Museum building photo Because technical and vocational schooling is always closely tied to the job market, the cornerstone of the district’s success has been its ability to adapt to the changing needs of local industry. When industry’s needs later changed from hand tools to computers, technical education had to adapt as well. The district believed students needed strong academic and technical skills to meet the challenges of the future. In the late 1980s, the district began offering before- and after-school enrichment classes for students interested in high-tech areas such as computers, physics, and electronics.
